National Register of Historic Places for Youngstown, Ohio

 

Youngstown, Ohio lies inside the county lines of Mahoning and Trumbell. It is named after John Young. He came to the area around 1796.

 

Originally, settlers sought the salt that Youngstown contained. The city is part of Mahoning Valley. During 1802, iron making became a popular trade for Youngstown, Delaware.

 

The Pennsylvania-Ohio Canal was constructed during 1839.
